DIY-U campus

When you think of a university campus, you would generally think of the above image. Yes. This is an example of an actual tangible university campus. A campus could be defined as the grounds and the buildings of an institution. I conduct my research and study from the comfort of my own home. Therefore, my home is my campus. The great thing about this concept is the fact that I don't have to pay extra money for rent or to buy a building to act as a university campus.

Digital Excavation is part of what I do at DIY-U

I am a highly creative thinker as you've probably come to realize. I came up with a new term which best describes what most, if not all, of my work consists of, : Digital Excavator Here's a link to one of my websites. You will find links to 2 PDF files. The first PDF describes the term I came up with, Digital Excavator. The 2nd PDF has some info on Digital Real estate.  https://www.tricsolution1.com/digital-excavator You're welcome to share, download the PDF files with your family, friends, associates etc.

DIY-U Clubs and Societies

Most universities around the world have one thing in common : They have available quite a few clubs and societies covering many interests for students to join. Most of these clubs and societies have no costs associated for becoming a member. The remaining clubs and societies which include membership fees are usually reasonably charged. I have seen some universities having as many as 200 or more clubs and societies. Clubs and societies are a great way for students to meet new people and to learn new things. Transferable skills can be gained through becoming a member of a club or society. If a particular type of club or society is not available, students can create their own. DIY-U has two clubs at present. One of the clubs is geared toward Research and Self Directed learning. The other is a sport and physical activity group. I had written about this group in a previous post. I will provide links below. There are 0 costs associated in joining these DIY-U clubs. I / we may create ne...

University based businesses, projects etc

Many fledgling businesses and/or projects had their start at universities. I had mentioned the word project, as Facebook had originally started out as a hobby or project of sorts. At DIY-U, small businesses and projects are encouraged, initiated and supported. University based businesses can boost the economies of the cities and towns they are situated at. Some of these ventures can have an international customer base. Anything is possible with web based businesses. I foresee more and more web based freelance type businesses and projects coming into existence in the coming years and beyond. Here is a link to a post which provides more info on this topic. https://www.topuniversities.com/student-info/careers-advice/7-most-successful-student-businesses-started-university

My independent study in Math/s

When I was growing up, I had a phobia of sorts for maths. In the UK, we call it maths. My maths skills started to improve when I had started junior college. I have decided to start my own independent study of maths. I have ongoing health issues. However, I will do what I am capable of doing. As self directed learning plays a huge part in DIY-U, I will find the necessary resources and I will teach myself. I will evaluate my learning. I am not interested in gaining a certificate or certificates for my maths studies. There are many self taught mathematicians in history. I am not saying I want to become a mathematician. However, I do want to improve my skills in this subject. I will conduct my studies at my own pace and I will most likely continue with the practice until I decide to end the self initiated learning project of my own creation. Here is one of the solutions I have created as a result of my explorations in math/s. http://www.projecttheremoteinfluencer.org/2020/02/succes...

My Research Takes Time poster

Research or more specifically, basic research, plays a big part in DIY-U. I will write more about basic research in future posts. What I can say for now is that basic research projects can take time to complete. Results don't come overnight. Here is a poster I had designed recently with the help of a talented graphic designer. I placed it into PDF format. It came out in two pages for some reason. You are welcome to download and to make a poster of the image if so desired. If you prefer, send me an email and I can email you the JPG format image instead. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fp5r1LLKoc1vYbig3RnOY-pqn8kNcON7/view?ts=5fb98547
