DIY-U and the DIY Maker Movement

Two of the elements which make up DIY-U are: the DIY maker movement and DIY education. There are other elements in DIY-U. However, for now I will be focusing on the DIY maker movement. We are living in an age where new ideas can spread like wildfire, thanks to the web and technology in general. Social media is included as one of the platforms to help to share these ideas through.

Projects can be showcased through Facebook for example. Groups dedicated to these projects can also be created. These actions can lead to new improvements being made to the projects. Youtube is another platform which should be explored. Youtube videos and Facebook posts can go viral with just a few clicks of the keyboard.

Here is a link to a post from my Ato Consulting Dot com site. It covers the DIY maker movement topic. The post includes a pdf on the diy maker movement.

My Facebook page for DIY-U

I have recently opened a Facebook page and a Facebook group for DIY-U. I believe in the power of social media as a learning platform. I will write more about this topic in future posts. I hope Google re-start their social media vehicle. Let's see what transpires. Here are the links to my Facebook page and my Facebook group for DIY-U. https://www.facebook.com/diyuniversity https://www.facebook.com/groups/336377653643535/ The Facebook group for DIY-U is a closed membership group. Just send me a request to join and I will then add you as a group member. I am impressed with some of the features these groups give to page admins. They allow page managers to place documents into the page and they have other useful features too.

WCK 7 Wearable chain keyring 7 updated demo

Here is an update for one of my creations, WCK 7 : Wearable chain keyring 7. http://www.schooloftheremoteinfluencer1.com/2023/02/wck-7-wearable-chain-keyring-7-updated.html This is an example of the DIY maker movement in action. WCK 7 is made up of industrial goods connected to each other. There are 10 pieces that make up this unique and useful product. In the video below, you can also see the neodymium magnet that's connected to a hexagonal nut. The keyring can be placed onto this end piece as you can see in the photo below.

My independent study in Math/s

When I was growing up, I had a phobia of sorts for maths. In the UK, we call it maths. My maths skills started to improve when I had started junior college. I have decided to start my own independent study of maths. I have ongoing health issues. However, I will do what I am capable of doing. As self directed learning plays a huge part in DIY-U, I will find the necessary resources and I will teach myself. I will evaluate my learning. I am not interested in gaining a certificate or certificates for my maths studies. There are many self taught mathematicians in history. I am not saying I want to become a mathematician. However, I do want to improve my skills in this subject. I will conduct my studies at my own pace and I will most likely continue with the practice until I decide to end the self initiated learning project of my own creation. Here is one of the solutions I have created as a result of my explorations in math/s. http://www.projecttheremoteinfluencer.org/2020/02/succes...
